Matthew 9:36-38 (NLT) …When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”
If you have not known Tommy Neiman before, today is a great opportunity to get to know a man who has lived in Fort Pierce all of his life. His family history is somewhat interesting. His father discovered a Shipwreck that named us the Treasure Coast back in the early 60’s. He was credited with the initial discovery of the location. This led to bigger names like Mel Fisher and others coming in.
For 30 years, Tommy served the city of Fort Pierce as a member of the Fire Rescue team. Tommy has written 2 books – one being Sirens for the Cross where Tommy relates some of his rescue stories, linking them to Scripture. He also serves a Chaplain!
Tommy relates one of these stories – as he was prepping for carpel tunnel surgery, it was discovered that the lady who was caring for him in the office was the (now grown up) first baby Tommy ever delivered as a First Responder – You might want to hear this in Tommy’s own words on WCNO ARCHIVES / ON DEMAND! NOW FOR THE NEW AND EXCITING NEWS! God has moved on Tommy’s heart to begin a new work in downtown Fort Pierce near the marina. And, of all places… at Sailfish in a Brewery/Indoor-Outdoor Eatery! This building belongs to a very good friend of his, and so the doors are open for God’s Word to permeate the atmosphere! Tommy says, “Jesus went everywhere!”
Everyone – all ages are welcome. They even have another building for the Children’s Ministry and a full staff to handle this as well.
The Kick-Off Service is Sunday, September 6 at 9:30 AM.
What can you expect? Friendly people, joyful worship, a message from the Bible, and a simple gathering centered on Jesus.
