ROBERT WHITLACH – THRIVENT FINANCIALS / PATHFINDER FINANCIAL GROUP

Rob begins by telling us that Thrivent Financial has been around for 120 years and operates as a Not-For-Profit, which enables them to “Give Back” to the community through charities. Robert states that “everything we have belongs to God. We are called to manage it”. And as advisors of Pathfinder Financial Group in Jensen Beach, that is exactly what Robert does to help his clients manage the money that God has given them. And for many of the services that Thrivent provides, the common bond is Christianity. Because of their non-profit status, there is money available to give back to the community.

Rob is on a committee for the FESTIVAL OF GIVING 2026 (formerly called the Festival of Trees) will be held at the Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast – November 13-21. Charities may sign up to take part before August 1st. In 2025 50 charities local to the Treasure Coast were involved. This is an impactful way for charities to receive support. Many small charities do a good work, and here is a place for them to gain recognition and receive financial support.
The Festival of Giving is a Free Community Event.
Finally, Rob spoke of the danger of the many scams that are out there stealing money from people. He says we must be cautious because even though AI in itself is not evil, AI can be used for evil. AI has given scammers additional tools. Even churches are being scammed out of money. Today it is absolutely easier to upload information and AI can create documents and other things to get people to cooperate with their schemes. And the issue is getting bigger says Rob.
Some “RED FLAGS” to look for:
- Being contacted out of the blue through a phone call, email, text.
- If you say “I need to call (you put in the name)”, a scammer will fight you to not make the call.
- They will ask you to pay with Bitcoin, a Bank Card, Cash etc.
- They will want to meet you in a parking lot… etc.
Rob also warns, If you use a website to verify any information, make sure you are on the right website, as there are fakes there as well.
