What a blessing and joy to have Jimmie Higgins and his wife Krystle and son Jim 4th in the studio with us! Jimmie is now President and Owner, and Krystle is Secretary/Treasurer of Palm Beach Iron Works. Krystle says, I am Jimmie’s assistant.
Jimmie shares his story… Jimmie’s Grandfather and Grandmother Jim Roy & Elsie Higgins began Palm Beach Iron Works began 52 years ago, in 1973. Many of you have heard Jim Higgins Sr. on our program during Prayer & Share for several years as he challenged Christian Business Owners to put their business in God’s hands. Jim Sr. met the Lord a couple of years ago, and Jimmie became the new owner/president of Palm Beach Iron Works. They do Steel Fabrication and Ministry!
Jimmie met Krystle online, and although they only lived less than a mile apart, they had no friends in common. Now, married 9 years and their son Jim Roy Higgins 4th is 4 years old.
Jimmy started to work at Palm Beach Iron Works while in Jr. High, and all through High School. He learned and worked the business from the ground up. Following his grandfather’s example of running a business according to Godly principals, Jimmie tells of when Covid attacked us how he made a commitment to keep everyone employed and paid during that time.
Being a Christian in business can be challenging. There are temptations to veer away from God when offered opportunities and money in ways that are not God-honoring. He says, “But God shows up and we take the opportunities”… to share his faith. Jimmy said several times how God has blessed his family and business! Jimmie says he is truly blessed. He states that his Father is an amazing man, and his Grandmother Elsie is a great example.
Jimmy says being on Christian Radio is worth it if one person can come to Christ by listening to WCNO! Being a partner on the radio brings a connection with community and the message is deep.
Jimmy leaves with a challenge to all of the Business Owners to trust God. You can’t out-give God. Krystle adds, when we give and God blesses, it is not always money. Sometimes the blessing is in the form of Purpose, Peace, Joy.
