WCNO once again welcomes Keith Flaugh, CEO and Co-Founder of Florida Citizens Alliance. Keith’s primary focus revolves around promoting legislative action, engaging local communities, and providing alternative education resources and Microschool options.
Keith brought up some very important points for us today to consider important as he and others engage with the Florida Legislature.
There is a major initiation of AI in education that impacts our youth directly. Florida Citizens Alliance objectives are to 1. Educate and inspire parents, grandparents, and faith-based communities to be attentive, informed, and actively engaged in discussions surrounding AI in education and 2. Help establish clear policy guardrails in Florida by working with legislators and the Governor to Require explicit parental opt-in for student use of AI technologies, 3. Strengthen parental rights and controls over student data collection, and 4. Require any Florida school district contracting with an AI provider to ensure alignment with a proven Western civilization and biblical worldview.
Keith’s goal is to educate and equip every parent, every grandparent, anyone with an interest in our children to know what we are doing with AI and how it influences our children of all ages.
FLCA is in its 3rd year of the Micro-School Initiative. FLCA believes that our children are the future, and we must, by whatever means necessary, provide them every opportunity to receive the education they need to become responsible, productive members of society. FLCA understands the urgency of this issue and the impact it has on our children and our society as a whole. The Micro-School Initiative aims to address this by promoting community-based learning environments that offer personalized, high-quality education alternatives to traditional public schools.
