Better Together Job Fair – June 5, 2025

What better way is there to serve our neighbors but to give a Hand-Up instead of a Hand-Out! Brittany comes to us with solutions. So many families have their children removed from their homes and put into foster care simply because they do not have the means – often financial – to take care of their children’s needs. Often times, the parents are without jobs, or the job they have is not sufficient to care for their family! In steps “Better Together” to help.
“Better Together” is 2-fold: keeping families together, helping to prevent foster care from coming in and removing children, and helping families to find employment that will allow enough income to take care of their children.
Better Together has host families – known as Family Advocates that are willing to take the children in while the parents are connected with employment that gives them the income to take care of their families… sometimes it is employment when there was none, and sometimes it is a better job!
“Better Together” also has a working relationship with businesses – some in your local area and some that are larger corporations. One way to get connected to these jobs is through Job Fairs which are held throughout the year in various locations through the partnership of local churches! The local church is the backbone of what we do!
JUNE 5 is the next “JOB FAIR” in our area to be held at ROSELAND GLOBAL METHODIST CHURCH, 12962 Roseland Rd, Sebastian FL, 32958. Pastor Jerry and Roseland Global MC are hosting this job fair.
Pastor Jerry told us a bit about Roseland Global Methodist Church. The main reason for the separation from UMC is due to doctrinal differences. Their focus is on bringing Christ into the community. This builds lives. They have a large Preschool program, a Food Pantry that feeds 90 people weekly, and a Thrift Store that helps to bring in income. Pastor Jerry says there are many homeless in his area that are also served with food and clothing. The church has 42 volunteers to meet newcomers, making them feel welcome.
By hosting this Job Fair, they can offer space and volunteers that allow Businesses to offer jobs and hope to local families while offering Christ! To be a host, beyond the few hours of training time and 3-4 core volunteers, all you need is space enough for about 15 Community Partners, 3 hours of “hosting” time during the middle of the week, and 10-15 volunteers. No money is involved.
